La vida en el centro de la vieja capital colombiana toma cuerpo a medida que Fayad desarrolla una prosa directa, vacunada contra los circunloquios y los laberintos de estilo, concediendo lo mínimo posible al facilismo o a la truculencia, ofreciendo al lector frases cargadas de sentido y de humor, así este sea en no pocas ocasiones amargo. Una prosa bien aprendida en el cine de los años en que Gregorio Camero (personaje central de esta novela) recorre las calles, las plazas, los cafés, los bares de mala muerte de una ciudad que desaparece entre la deslumbrante corrupción de los gobiernos del llamado Frente Nacional, cuando todo, en Colombia, empezó a desaparecer |
