Es una manifestación del patrimonio cultural infantil que fusiona leyenda, juego y baile. Sus orígenes están en la Isla de Margarita -Venezuela- y gracias a la escuela esta pieza de la tradición oral (el libro recoge la original pues hay varias versiones) se extendió por todo el país. Según la leyenda, los chimichimitos son duendes que aparecen en grupo durante las noches de luna llena y se reúnen en la playa para cantar y jugar. Su canto es tan dulce que puede atraer a los peces a la orilla del mar. (Apartes del texto) |
