En este libro el humor tiene un papel esencial. El juego con el lenguaje que plantea Chirif se da naturalmente a partir de la palabra miel, la cual da pie a una serie de malentendidos entre Gelsomina y Carmela, los dos personajes entrañables de esta historia, la cual propone al lector entrar a este universo de divertimento con las palabras. Es importante resaltar cómo el texto dialoga con otros personajes, animales domésticos creados por Juliana Salcedo, que, curiosos y atentos a lo que pasa en la historia, recorren las páginas para hacer parte de espacios cálidos, íntimos y familiares. Carmela nos invita a mirar su cuarto, sus fotografías, su cocina y nos lleva a la tienda de Gelsomina, en la cual todos quisiéramos estar para disfrutar de colores, texturas y sabores. Las ilustraciones elaboradas en lápiz y digital, con una paleta de colores muy bien elegida por la talentosa ilustradora evidencian su destreza para crear universos muy ricos en formas y texturas. |
